Impression compound

Impression compound is used in dentistry for creating preliminary impressions, especially for edentulous (toothless) arches, and for making custom trays for more precise impressions. As a thermoplastic material that softens with heat and hardens on cooling, it is also used to make diagnostic models, create temporary restorations, and for border molding techniques to detail the edges of impression trays.
